Ashbourne Victoria Memorial Cottage Hospital

Opened as a charitable institution in 1899 and moved into a new building in Buxton Road in 1903. The hospital was taken over by the National Health Service in 1948/49 and closed down in 1964. It is located to the immediate left of St John's Church. The building is now a private house.
In 1919, a Mrs Bednall of Thorpe made it a beneficiary in her will. Minutes and accounts exist in the Derbyshire records office 1897 - 1964.
